Oops I haven’t posted anything this year. The al Oops I haven’t posted anything this year. The algorithm is going to be pissed at me!! We still here loving life in Portugal! In January I did two nights in Sesimbra to feel like I was on vacation because I wasn’t about to travel out of country in the Omicron peak. It’s a beautiful little beach town with a castle and good vibes. There’s beauty around every corner in Portugal! I celebrated two years here on February 1st. Still loving my forever home and wishing my friends back in the US would move. My heart goes out to those in Ukraine and Ukrainians around the world. You really don’t miss out on anything. Just flip through the hundreds of food photos on my account from all over the world!! The last stop on my 5 week trip was in Austria. I had never been before and had to do a layover here so thought I would stay for a few days and check out the vegan scene. Vienna is beautiful and clean and has a cool vibe. I dig it! Some decent vegan options too including one of the best pizzas I’ve had in my life at @tolstoy_restaurants. Buffalo cauliflower with vegan ranch dressing. It was heaven. I’m falling behind on telling you about my trip I’m falling behind on telling you about my trip last month! So after Helsinki I had the pleasure of staying with my dear friends in the “countryside” of Finland for a week in a town called Lappeenranta. It is stunning with a beautiful harbor by the largest lake in Finland called Saimaa. We had so much fun and explored, ate delicious vegan food, went on a boat tour, foraged mushrooms, did lots of hiking in the beautiful nature and went to some museums. I’m so glad I got to see this part of the world. I never thought I would make it to Finland but hope to return someday. Have you been? . . Finland is going to need more than one post becaus Finland is going to need more than one post because I was there for 10 days and it was just spectacular. First I must tell you about one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life at @maguhelsinki. I rarely splurge like this but when I saw the foraged mushroom themed menu I could not resist!! Flip through the 5 courses and see the menu choices at the end. Seriously in love with vegan food. After the yoga therapy teacher training in France After the yoga therapy teacher training in France I headed to Germany for a week. Since I lived in Berlin for 1.5 years I just had to visit friends and also eat amazing vegan food. Berlin is definitely in my top 10 vegan cities in the world and it did not disappoint. Got to squeeze many friends, saw a comedy show with a Portuguese comedian who happened to be in town at the same time, ate sushi at one of my all-time favorite spots, pizza, donuts, Asian food. Then visited a dear friend in Nuremberg which I think is an adorable and beautiful city. Not as much vegan food though! I’m behind on posting photos from my trip so far I’m behind on posting photos from my trip so far. Let’s start with Lyon, France! At first I didn’t think much of this city but as I walked all around (25k steps a day!!!!!) it started to grow on me. It’s the second largest city in France and nowhere near as beautiful as Paris but had many good attributes like the cat cafe with an epic brunch (@nekobonheur). I had lovely walks along the rivers, a fantastic meal at @lesmauvaisesherbeslyon1 , desserts at Lê petite colibri then followed 3 nights with an epic week long yoga therapy training in the countryside with @samarasa_healing. I learned so much and feel really inspired to teach yoga in a whole new way that benefits all bodies. I was so elated and relieved when I got my second shot but now with Delta and the continued carelessness of people who knows what we have in store for us. I’m not feeling very hopeful for humanity right now with all that is going on in the world. Anyone else feeling those vibes? Tomorrow I leave for a month long trip around Europe. After not traveling for a year and a half I’m ready to get out into the world. Safely. Double masked. Hope you are having a good summer. Oh and yeah I’m vaccinated and still vegan! I haven’t posted in a while and not because thin I haven’t posted in a while and not because things aren’t good. Honestly, life has been great. I’ve been working a bit too much but have a vibrant social life and wonderful friends here in my new area!! The weather has improved. I’m in love with the farmers market where I get all my produce for the week for 7€! More of a recap of June, got my first vaccine, went to @casa_das_flores_portugal_ for the first time to enjoy the sun, pool, spa day and the most delicious #vegan food (then went again!), had a sushi date in the park, visited many beaches and enjoyed live music with friends and sangria. My 42nd birthday was pretty awesome! I put on red My 42nd birthday was pretty awesome! I put on red lipstick for the second time in my life. My new friends threw me a little get together on Thursday and I had the most delicious caramel apple and biscoff cake from @the26.pt ! I provided all the food (#vegan of course). None of them are vegan, but they loved everything! I got some lovely pastries from @loveeatcatering 💕 They were shocked at how delicious the food and cake was so I’m happy. That’s all you want when you have new omnivores in your life. This is new to me as I haven’t really had non-vegan friends in over 15 years. Let’s just say it’s interesting! I’m so glad I moved closer to the coast and nearer to like-minded people that became fast friends! Life must go on even though vaccinations are still very slow here.
