Review of GGVE Around The World Plus Interview With Allyson Kramer

Whether you are vegan or gluten-free or not everyone that loves ethnic food and experimenting with new ingredients will love Allyson Kramer’s second cookbook Great Gluten-Free Vegan Eats Around the World! I made the Vietnamese Salad Wraps (which I share with a video over at Wellness Reboot) and the Bulgogi-Style Tofu (which you can get on Manifest Vegan). Both were amazing! Here’s a hint for you: save half of the marinade from the tofu and soak two sliced portobello mushrooms in it overnight.… Read more

Guest Post: Grilled Grapefruit For Dessert!

Cooking By Color – Pink Sooooo June was going to be Pink month on the blog. To say it’s been a busy last few weeks is an understatement so getting pink recipes together wasn’t going so well! Thankfully we have Samantha here to share with us a terrific way to use grapefruit, the only pink fruit I could think of that I actually dislike lol. Samantha first shared her delicious Yonana ice cream variations in this post. There are only about five foods that I can’t stand and grapefruit is one of them.… Read more

Sessions Recap from BlogHer Food Conference

This was my first ever BlogHer conference to attend. It seemed appropriate for me to attend their Food conference and since it landed in Austin this year I was happy to be asked to speak. I gave a class on video equipment with my partner in crime Heather from Healthy Eating Starts Here. You can read about our fun weekend with the other vegans here. Vida Vegan Con blogger conference highlights

“Bringing people together isn’t a luxury, but rather an essential component to our spiritual well-being.” – Russell Simmons This quote pretty much sums up the past weekend for me. I need to connect with others who are like-minded and share (at least some of) the same values and ethics as me. It fuels, refreshes, inspires, regenerates me. That’s why conferences and vegan festivals are so important to me. Even though I’ve been at this vegan thing for almost 11 years and a vegan business owner for 8 of those, I always learn something new and enjoy my time connecting with old and new friends.… Read more

Guest Post: Roasted Walnut & Eggplant Boats

May Cooking By Color – Purple/Blue  Howdy friends! I know it’s been a while since I posted my own recipe, but things have been pretty busy. Besides working as a substitute teacher to make some extra cash, I’ve been training really hard in the gym. Basically my meals have become really simple and repetitive while I’m training and my creative recipe development has been lacking. But I promise to have you some delicious Cooking By Color recipes soon! Until then enjoy this guest post using eggplant (which I have a love/hate relationship with 😉 Roasted Walnut & Eggplant Boats by Macaroon When I was in the 8th grade, purple was my “signature” color.… Read more
