Those who choose to follow a plant-based diet consume a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, as well as grains, beans and the like. Also, there is a focus on the consumption of fresh and/or minimally processed plant foods with a decreased consumption of meat, egg and dairy products. Such lifestyles can be referred to as vegetarian, vegan, raw, macrobiotic or nutritarian.
