March Cooking Tool of the Month – Food Processor

I hope you've enjoyed learning all the wonderful things the food processor can do in March! We had some terrific guests posts while I was out of town during my book tour, didn't we?! Here's a recap of the delish recipes we shared with you. Be sure to bookmark this post so you can easily find all the recipes from the March Cooking Tool of the Month!

Bonus marks if you eat this with chopsticks

We started off the month of March with Heather from Healthy Eating Starts Here showing us the versatility of the food processor with a video and an Asian Coleslaw recipe.

Next I shared with you a quick oil-free mole recipe that is so delicious you won't even notice it's quilt-free.

Then Ricki from DietDessertsnDogs.com shared a sunflower cookie recipe with us. They look divine!

From the What Kids Love feature, Carissa from Mama in the Kitchen and her family rave about the Heavenly Raw Chocolate Mousse from Blissful Bites. It's one of my favorite things to make with my food processor too.

Michelle from www.wholehealthgirl.blogspot.com shares her Detoxing Soup with us just in time for Spring!

Alyssa of The Queen of Quinoa shares her Curried Cauliflower Hummus which I can't wait to make now that I'm settled back at home!

Finally we end the month with a cooking video using the food processor in two different ways! I also show how wonderful the Silpat mat is to use when baking! Check out the video and recipe for Popeye Cakes with Curry Avocado Sauce. Thanks to Allyson and Jaime for helping with this video!

Silpat mats are pretty amazing! They can be used up to 2,000-3,000 times, when used and cared for properly!! This is the greatest eco-friendly product in baking history. And you can win your very own!!

There will be no April Cooking Tool of the Month. I have a lot of work to do after being gone for 5 weeks and I want to make some changes to my website. And I must spend some time developing recipes for my next book! I don't have an assistant so there is only so much I can do for the blog. I love bringing you free content through my blog and videos, but this month there will be less posts. Thank you for understanding!

I have one Silpat and it's the wrong size for my baking sheets!  So, I'd love to win one that actually fits.  πŸ™‚  I also use mine for rolling out dough, which means it still comes in handy.  Thanks for the giveaway!

Thanks again for inviting me to food processor month πŸ™‚ I rarely enter contests, but your video showing those little patties not sticking AT ALL made me really want a silpat mat… So I would love to have one so that I can make lots and lots of non-sticking veggie burgers! and maybe some cookies, too… πŸ˜‰

Yes please! I am confident/hopeful that I would bake more often if I had a Silpat!

I bake all of our bread as well as bagels and what-not, so I'd love a Silpat to cut down on the cost of parchment paper!

I would be so blissfully happy to win a mat! My potatoes and asparagus wouldn't stick in the oven any more. Pick me. Pick me. Thanks so much!

I love your blog! Your recipes are so inspiring. I've never used a Silpat mat but I adore the option of baking over frying so of course I'd love to win. Thanks for sharing your bliss!

My favorite things to bake are the Blissful Bites’ pear cake and root fries. I also recently veganised an old Russian “piroshki” recipe (with veggies, mashed potatoes, or berries) which were a huge hit! Will gladly share the recipe and the final product πŸ™‚

All three of my middle school kids are excellent bakers (but not tremendous dishwashers!)  Silpat for them would mean no parchment and less mess!  For me, I'd love it for our baked falafel.  LOVE to make this vegan dinner but it's a challenge without using oil!

  • Sherry 04 / 04 / 2012 Reply

I buy parchment paper too frequently, but it works and the paper is recycled.  Having a Silpat would mean no more parchment and would be even more Eco-friendly.  I think the Silpat would be fantastic for your polenta fries. We make them once a week, that's how yummy they are!
