Blessed With Abundant Energy
So last week was CRAZY busy. It started with an interview with Sting’s manager. He needed a macrobiotic chef to go on tour with him. After not hearing back and burning with anticipation, they called me in for a second interview. That went well and I was schedule to go cook for him today. I get an email saying they won’t be needing me. Yes, I was a little bummed but I quickly got over it because I have so many other great opportunities that have come my way in the last week (like a cooking show on Supreme Master TV and other news I will share with you soon!).
Thursday night was the Skin Trade Premiere. It was the first time I had seen my friends Shannon, Gene, and Ramy’s documentary. I basically had my eyes covered the whole time. The footage was horrifying as you would have expected, but the doc itself was well made and informative. I love what they (Animal Rescue Media Education) are doing so much that I’m donating part of my proceeds from cooking classes to them in July. Friday I spent the whole day preparing for the Stray Cat Alliance benefit that night, which for weeks I’ve been organizing with their team. I arrived at 5pm to the Gallery and didn’t stop. I had some amazing volunteers that made the night go more smoothly than I could have ever imagined. It was a lot of fun, but catering is not really for me, it’s SO much work!! Everyone had such a blast and loved the food. They brought me out and announced my name and everyone was clapping and cheering. I was so embarrassed and couldn’t stop blushing. This is such an amazing non-profit I was happy to donate my time to help them with the party. I hope they raised a ton of money! Photos are here from the event.
Saturday and Sunday I taught cooking classes, Weekend Brunch and Plant-based Proteins. Featured is the Tofu “Eggs” Benedict that was out of this world! You will see that recipe and more in my upcoming cookbook! More work and more fun and eating lots of yummy food. Last night I had dinner with some great friends who cheered me up about the Sting gig not happening. Today I was going to try and relax but that didn’t happen. I did make a facial appointment tomorrow and got a lot of work done.
Now I must put finishing my cookbook at the top of my list of things to accomplish very soon. With my best friend’s bridal shower, bachelorette party and camping/teaching at French Meadows in July, then the wedding in August (which I’m a bridesmaid) it’s going to be a busy busy summer.
