I finally got my butt over to the Hollywood Farmer’s Market to try some of C’est La V’s delicious vegan baked goods. I met Kim and her husband Ryan, and they are super sweet (just like their desserts, har har). You can visit her blog here for the most scrumptious food and beautiful photography done by Ryan.
I could have spent a ton of money buying everything up, but I went with 3 things (for now). Be warned, if you get there late like I did, they might sell out of stuff (like the amazing White Chocolate Macadamia cookie I sampled that was out of this world). If you don’t live in Los Angeles or can’t make it to the Sunday market, they have a online shop where you can get anything your heart desires!
First, my favorite out of the three was the cinnamon roll reminiscent of the gooey buns I used to eat growing up. But this one didn’t make me feel sick to my stomach! It’s was the perfect texture, just the right amount of cinnamon and the most decadent creamy frosting to top it off. It was heavenly to say the least. (Sorry for the crappy photos).
My next favorite thing was the Fudgy Chocolate Brownie. I haven’t met many brownies I didn’t like to tell you the truth and this one did not disappoint. So rich and just the right amount of sweet. Lastly, I had the Chai Shortbread Cookies, which were the most expensive thing I purchased. I was happy to see they had a few items sweetened with coconut palm sugar. These cookies had less spice than I was hoping for, and were less sweet than most cookies (which I actually didn’t mind), but they didn’t quite hit the spot. I am definitely regretting that I didn’t try the Red Velvet Cupcake. Guess I will have to make another trip soon!
