A Visit to the White City and the Desert

We continue our journey with Peru Hop to Arequipa or better known as the White City. It’s a beautiful place with many hidden courtyards and stunning architecture. We had to take one more overnight bus and arrived here at 5 am. I booked a shared room at Los Andes Bed & Breakfast. It’s not really a hostel and was lacking in communal spaces but it was so nice with comfortable single beds (no bunk beds!) at only $8 a night with a shared bathroom and simple breakfast.… Read more

A week along the Gringa Trail with Peru Hop

My travel blogs are going to be out of order because honestly I can only write when inspiration strikes and I had such a fun experience on Peru’s “gringo trail” I wanted to get it down before I forgot. I still owe you a blog about the amazing yoga retreat I led in the Sacred Valley of Peru, which I promise is coming soon. After the retreat I was trying to figure out what to do with the rest of my time in Peru.… Read more

Lima is not like South American at all

I’m going to jump around a bit here. I owe you a blog about London and Berlin from my summer trip, but I want to get Lima on the blog while it’s fresh in my mind. When I started my three months in South America in Lima this month I didn’t know what to expect. My only experience with this continent was in Medellin. So when I spent three days in Lima I wasn’t expecting it to feel like a gloomy Los Angeles.… Read more

Budapest is more awesome than you would think

My three month trip in Europe didn’t go as planned. I work part-time from my computer doing marketing and social media for a few companies and lost my main client mid-way through my trip. This had me stressing about money, so I took a few detours to do work exchange and housesitting to save. My goal was to visit only new countries but I had to go where I could get hooked up with accommodations. I did however get to visit a new country after Greece: beautiful Hungary.… Read more

Paros, a little island 4 hours from Athens

After experiencing a pretty crap time in Athens I wanted to get the hell out of there. A little research showed me that Paros was pretty close and not as touristy as Mykonos and Santorini. Everyone goes to those islands. It was high season in July so I made a decision to go to the smaller island and keep my sanity. I’m so glad I did! Paros was the perfect week-long getaway with beautiful sunsets, plenty of vegan food options, and no huge crowds.… Read more

Of Montreal: A recap of my 8 days in Quebec’s Metropolis

I know I’m a little behind on my blog. It seems that a blog once a month is all I can crank out while galavanting around the world. My apologies! We continue with my wonderful 8 days in Montreal in May. My research led me to believe that Montreal is a vegan-friendly city, but couldn’t be anything compared to my love affair with Toronto. Some gems were found, but overall it was the vibe and layout of the city I liked best.… Read more
