Vegan Bacon & Brussels Pizza – Untraditional Thanksgiving Meal

I know I owe you a blog about my yoga teacher training with Trimurti. But first I wanted to share this awesome pizza my friend Nanette and I made on the fly! You can watch the video here. Since I was making this up as I went the ingredients are totally estimates. I think you’ll find if I’m close to correct it will be very delicious! You know nutritional yeast is magical stuff right? It makes everything taste better. You’ll need a store-bought pizza crust or make your own about 10-12 inches in diameter.… Read more

Living Candida-Free and a sammie to knock your socks off!

I’m super excited to tell you about my friend Ricki Heller’s new cookbook Living Candida-Free! Her eBooks have been favorites of mine for a while. Desserts Without Compromise allowed me to eat guilt-free desserts during a time where I gave up sugar and was molding my physique. You might recall my review of her first book, Naturally Sweet & Gluten-free, and the fun On-Air interview we did where she walked me through how to make coconut macaroons. You’ll also find some of her delicious recipes in my Cooking by Color series from 2013 AND in the Cooking Tool of the Month series I did in 2012!… Read more

Day 4 Sugar Cleanse – Smoky Chili Beans

We are in Day 4 of the 10-Day Sugar Cleanse. How are you doing? Yesterday I was a bit moody, dragging in energy, and quite clumsy as I dropped my favorite VVC tea mug on the ground. Last night my sleep was crazy! Lots of tossing and turning and waking up. But this morning I woke up feeling refreshed. I think I’m over the hump. It’s usually at day 4 or 5 when things level out and I don’t actually have cravings or loopiness anymore.… Read more

Pumpkin Two Ways and some updates

Tis the season for pumpkin. Two ways.  Many weeks ago in fact I began to see pumpkin take over the interwebs. I’m pretty late to the game having seen all my favorite bloggers already post pumpkin recipes. Better late than never right? One reason I have been so busy and not blogging as much; I launched a test group a few weekends ago for a new “Advanced” program for Wellness Reboot. Many people who did the 28-day program were like “What’s next?”.… Read more

All About Sea Vegetables! And Wakame Tofu “Bacon” Quiche

One thing that sets apart Blissful Bites from other vegan cookbooks is the chapter on Sea Vegetables (or seaweed). It wasn’t until I went to a macrobiotic culinary school that I was introduced to the exciting world of sea veggies. Honestly, I didn’t even like sushi until after that and came to love nori for wrapping and snacking. Sea vegetables are an important missing link to the plant-based diet in the US (and many other countries for that matter!). Sea vegetables, or seaweeds, are some of the most nutritious foods we can eat.… Read more

Red Quinoa Sushi with Purple Asparagus

May Cooking By Color – Purple/Blue I have finally broken by cooking video dry spell!! I do apologize for taking so long. It turns out my new kitchen is a great place to do videos but I’m still figuring out the lighting situation. My dad gave me a tripod but the head piece was missing and I’m waiting for that to come in the mail. Thankfully a few cookbooks worked to prop up the camera! If you’ve been reading I let you know a few weeks ago that posts were going to slow down because I wasn’t in the kitchen creating exciting recipes because of my training schedule.… Read more
