Lemon Tahini Dressing – A Frequent Dressing of Mine

Day 2. Sugar Cleanse. How are you doing? I feel pretty darn good. I had a pretty simple day 1; big smoothie for breakfast, made my raw chocolate mousse (sweetened with dates) topped with strawberries, Amy’s low sodium soup for lunch while I prepped my meals for the week, and this delicious plate for dinner (followed by a little more chocolate mousse!). I took off from the gym but plan to go today for some lifting and a spinning class. Today I want to share with you one of my favorite dressings to put on greens.… Read more

Minty Kale Salad, perfect for July summers

Cooking Tool of the Month – Blender How’s it going blissies? I’m cat and dog-sitting this week and boy are they a handful! Two cats and two dogs. I couldn’t imagine having this many pets. They are super sweet and cuddly, but it’s hard work having animals. I ate out a lot last week and weekend so today I was really wanting something light, healthy, and raw. June Cooking Tool of the Month – Spiralizer¬† Did everyone enjoy the video showing you how to use this month’s cooking tool? This month has been a fun one! Experimenting with seeds and nuts in dressings

Now that I’ve settled back into my own home and kitchen, I’ve prepared myself to start working full force on my next cookbook. The large white board in my room has been filled with all the chapters, the recipes I already have, and blanks for what is still needed. I’m really excited about this book! It’s all about the food and makes cooking easy! I’m including a main meals chapter that will have different themes like A Trip To Thailand, Southern BBQ, Let’s Go on A Picnic, and Pizza Night, which I didn’t have in Blissful Bites.… Read more

March Cooking Tool of the Month – Food Processor

Cooking Tool of the Month – Food Processor Hello lovelies! I’m really excited to announce the March Cooking Tool of the Month, one of my favorite tools in the kitchen. The Food Processor!! You might be asking yourself, “I have a blender so why do I need a food processor as well?”. Here’s the thing. Blenders are great for things that are liquidy like beverages, dressings and soups. For things like hummus, bean pates, tofu quiche, and nut-based desserts the food processor does a better job.… Read more

Salad Dressings Made With Nuts

I’m kind of obsessed with making dressings, sauces and desserts with nuts. I think most of us vegan are (who are not allergic to nuts). Cashews get the most use around here because they take on a flavor and texture similar to milk products, making it the perfect substitute in vegan cooking. Last week I made a cashew-based dressing out of Bryan Au’s book Raw in 10 Minutes. I’m all about raw food, but I don’t want it to take forever, so I like the idea of this book.… Read more
