I love sweets. It’s my one dietary downfall. In order to have (more) treats in my life without feeling guilty I do weird things like sneak protein powder in them. This is sort of a “thing” in the bodybuilding/powerlifting community. Is it something you should start doing? I would say yes!

Things have been so crazy busy with my business but I wanted to say HI and give you an updated version of the mousse I’ve been eating like almost every night. I’ve updated my already delicious raw avocado chocolate mousse that I posted years ago in 2010 by throwing in some protein powder and only sweetening it with dates. As I get closer to my competition (April 26th) and continue to eat clean and somewhat boring my cravings for treats has gone down. But sometimes when I am craving a treat I break out my baking pans and think of what I can create that sort of fits into my competition diet (I will describe what that looks like in another post very soon!).

August Cooking By Color – Red
As August comes to a close summer in Texas still burns on. My diet this summer has been high raw, maybe about 50% on most days. I’ve been crazy about fruit. We get beautiful berries at the beginning of summer and then stone fruits like peaches, plums, nectarines, pluots, apricots, and other hybrids start popping up later. When these two types of fruit come together in a fruit salad it’s pretty magical.
