Travel log: Lake Atitlan, Guatemala and it’s Traditions

The first week of March I took Spanish classes in San Pedro at Casa Rosario. I got to know the traditional Guatemala way of life through many conversations with my teacher and doing a homestay with a local family. It was so interesting, this exchange, where I learned about their religion, family, traditions, diet, work, income, common activities in San Pedro, and more. I couldn’t have been more different than them. Like the complete opposite. Lake Atitlan is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited.… Read more

Mexico City is a vegan mecca!

As we vegans like to do, every time I travel to a new country I’m planning my days around where I will eat. I research and star all the vegan options I can find from the internet and HappyCow on Google Maps. Pro Tip: Did you know you can see all your starred places on Google Maps even when you don’t have internet? It’s the best! As soon as I arrived into the city I was ready to eat. Travel log: I Heart Mexico City

I was going to do this post including food but decided it needed it’s own post! When I visited Mexico City in February I kind of fell in love. The weather was just perfect at that time; cool nights and mornings, with a nice sunny 70 degrees during the day. In 2015 I decided to start setting mantras instead of resolutions for the new year. When I dug deep to find the mantra for 2016, New Experiences came to me. On my blog I tell you all about my new experiences for the year. Many of them are fitness/adventure related like the two featured today. We are closing in on the new year already (omg!!!) and I’ve done a very poor job keeping up with my blog and sharing my new experiences with you.… Read more

Experience Mantra 2016: Silver jewelry making in Bali

In 2015 I decided to start setting mantras instead of resolutions for the new year. Usually by February those resolutions are nowhere to be found. It suited me better to come up with “a statement or slogan repeated frequently” throughout the year that would lead my choices and experiences. 2015 was the year of No Fear where I purposely set out to tackle things that scared the sh*t out of me. When I dug deep to find the mantra for 2016, New Experiences came to me.… Read more
