Reflections on 2016 & my new experiences

In 2015 I decided to start setting mantras instead of resolutions for the new year. When I dug deep to find the mantra for 2016, New Experiences came to me. On my blog I tell you all about my new experiences for the year. Many of them are fitness/adventure related like the two featured today. We are closing in on the new year already (omg!!!) and I’ve done a very poor job keeping up with my blog and sharing my new experiences with you.… Read more

Experience Mantra 2016: Teaching yoga & learning to surf

In 2015 I decided to start setting mantras instead of resolutions for the new year. Usually by February those resolutions are nowhere to be found. It suited me better to come up with “a statement or slogan repeated frequently” throughout the year that would lead my choices and experiences. 2015 was the year of No Fear where I purposely set out to tackle things that scared the shit out of me. When I dug deep to find the mantra for 2016, Experience came to me.… Read more

Experience Mantra 2016: Muay Thai Kickboxing

As you may recall last year in 2015 I decided to start setting mantras instead of resolutions or goals for the new year. 2015 was the year of No Fear. When I dug deep to find the mantra for 2016, Experience came to me. If you didn’t know I turned 37 last month. That isn’t old and it isn’t young. It’s kind of a pointless age really, but a nice right in the middle of my prime kind of number. The more I talk about my age and say/type/read the number the more I get comfortable with it. Because I’ve been struggling with aging (I’ll have to save that for another post!). One number I never rarely pay attention to is the number on the scale.… Read more

Travel log: Why come to Bali for 6 weeks?

I bet a lot of people wonder why I travel so much. They might not understand the wanderlust I feel when I’m back on US soil. If you took a glimpse into my life you’ll see no attachments, no mortgage, no husband, no children. I tried last year to “settle down”, plant some roots, start a new life in a new city, but it just didn’t sit right with me. When I thought long and hard about it, my gut was yelling at me to continue traveling.… Read more

New travel blog and retreat update!

Hello friends! If you read my last post I was feeling pretty in the dumps last week. This week is totally different. Maybe it was hormonal? I don’t really know but I’m moving on and getting excited about my future travels. You probably know I started a new travel business offering unique, affordable getaways in beautiful locations with special guest teachers. I also started blogging over at my new website, and I forgot how much I LOVE writing! Blogging has fallen to the waist side over the last few years, but when I’m passionate about something the words just flow.… Read more
