4 Days Out From Competition!

We are 4 days away from my first bikini competition (or 3 if you are reading this on Tuesday!)! As you know I’ve been working extremely hard to get ready for it and will be very happy when it’s over (and I can eat cupcakes and drink margaritas). I’m utterly shocked at my progress. When I started this journey I had serious doubts that I would reach my goals, that I would be happy with what I brought to the stage.

The Naturally Fit Super Show is this Friday and Saturday if you are in or near Austin and want to come you can get your tickets here. It’s a large fitness expo with all kinds of things happening! Be sure to get the “main stage” tickets so you can see the largest gathering of vegans at a bodybuilding show ever! We are truly making history.

I want to thank all of my amazing sponsors! Without them I would not have been able to get where I am today or do this competition (you would not believe how expensive the whole thing is!!)!

Huge thanks to WhiteStar Manufacturing and Four Small Cats for designing the most beautiful competition suit ever! If you ever need a suit I highly recommend them. They also do screen printing and designing of anything you can imagine!

beyondfit

Thanks to Beyond Fit (best gym ever), and to Chad and Tricia, for giving me a place to discover what my body was capable of and fostering my love for fitness. I could not have accomplished my goals without your continued support and ass-kicking!

PlantFusion Hi-Res Logo

Big thanks to PlantFusion for providing me all the protein powder my heart desires. Definitely couldn’t do any fitness related activities without you! I’ve been able to put on more muscle and keep it thanks to quality plant-protein. Supplements is not a dirty word!

Web

Thanks to The Waxing Studio for helping me get beautified for the show! If you are in Austin you must check them out. A very lovely salon with great service and employees. It smells SO good in there!

Also big thanks and shout-out to Austin of Solid PT for helping me train and covering competition costs, to Kalea for doing hair and makeup, and to all my friends and family who have supported me along the way and put up with all the photos of me working out and not being able to go out to eat and party for the last 12 weeks. It means the world to me that you’ve stuck around through it all! Thanks to Claudia for helping me through these last 3 weeks when I was losing all motivation to continue.

plantbuilt

And though I couldn’t officially be on the team of PlantBuilt, big shout out to them for all they have worked for and accomplished spreading the message about veganism to the world. I’m proud to share a stage with them and I’m super grateful to those on the team that have helped me along with way (Yolanda you’re my girl!). They are still taking donations if you have a few dollars to spare!

July11th

And now my “after” photo is the new “before” photo. The journey doesn’t end here. I will continue to work hard in the gym and see where I can take my body and athletic performance.

After this weekend my training (and diet) changes back into endurance mode. My first Olympic Triathlon is end of September and I have a lot of work to do before I’m ready for that feat!

Thanks for following along on my journey! I will post a recap of the competition next week but keep at eye out on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for real time updates during the show!

Thanks again for all your love, support and good vibes! For the animals!

Hi! What did your meal plan consist of while training for your bikini competition?

I am inspired to do this on a vegan diet.

    • Hi Sharon! If you read back through the blog from the beginning you can see more of what I tried and experimented with! 5-6 smaller meals throughout the day, all whole foods, balanced, cooked and raw. Protein at every meal pretty much. Also if you check out my Instagram I posted my meals. I know people that can set up a meal plan for you if you need help!
