What Veganism Means To Me

Someone posted on Twitter “Veganism isn’t about being green. It’s not about being spiritual. It’s not about being healthy. It’s about the animals.” My opinion is being vegan is about the heart, having love & compassion for all living beings. It’s about the planet and lessening our impact on it, it’s especially for me about the spirit and connectedness to all things, it’s about being healthy so I can perform my function in this lifetime.

Of course it’s about the animals too. But, if we continue to be judgmental and hateful to others that is what we’ll continue to manifest in the world. We reap what we sow. This is a Universal law that never changes. We might not understand karma or you might not even believe it, but it’s all around us. Our thoughts, actions, and reactions create the world around us. The only way to change the things that disturb us is to change what’s inside of us. Be the change you wish to see in the world. Change begins when you change your own heart. That is the only way to see True change. We need to take a look inside and stop looking outside for the answers.

Blissful Quote: “Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks within, awakens.”

  1. I completely agree and that’s exactly why I love your blog 😀 because you see the bigger picture, you understand that everything is interconnected… and also your recipes are brilliant! 🙂 you really motivated me and inspired me to get on with macrobiotics and to take responsibility for my own health. After watching your vids and reading a lot about macrobiotics, I have enrolled on a course to become a Macrobiotic Cook and Health Advisor. You definitly inspired me to do it, for me your turned macrobiotics into something practical and real and you gave me a fresh new faith in veganism, and in vegans especially. I have been a vegan for nearly ten years, but I was starting to lose faith in vegans, I was getting tired of their aimless anger and lack of flexibility… but as long as there are people with a vision, who believes in compassion and are the change they want to see in the world… then we are all good 😀

    Have a lovely day,

    Noemie.
