I don’t know about you but I stayed the heck away from any retail establishment or shopping center this past weekend. Sure, I probably missed the best deals and sales of my life, but I’d rather not participate. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE buying gifts for people. I pride myself in buying just want that person needs to make their life more blissful. Almost every year I get something that I never use, end up throwing out or giving to Goodwill. People, if you are going to buy presents for someone, make sure it’s useful! Check out Eco-Vegan Gal’s Green Friday guide for the best in eco-friendly, useful, save the planet kind of gifts (November 24th post).
What I’m doing this year is making my gifts. I started to knit and crochet for the first time in my life. It’s fun, meditative, and feels special when I give someone a gift made by my own hands!
I even made something for my friend’s cat, which she loved.
There are so many YouTube videos on how to knit and crochet. If you ever wanted to learn, it’s pretty easy and not that expensive of a hobby.
What are your ideas for hand-made gifts for the holidays?
